We are a husband and wife team, Frank & Sandra, born and raised here in the bay area. We have 2 kids (daughter 17 & son 12) that have blessed us with the opportunity to watch them play competitive sports. Softball & baseball tournaments have been the normal activity for us year-round for the last 7 years. Over the years we took pictures, gradually moving up to the next level of photography equipment, always wanting better quality pictures. We finally made it to the professional-grade cameras and lenses and the difference is so noticeable that we won't use anything else now to take pictures.

     We were given an opportunity to sell Shadow Boxes at a baseball tournament that our son was playing in. Parents would place orders, we would take the pictures, and Sandra made the final products. At the tournament we were approached by a professional photographer who asked us who was taking our pictures for the Shadow Boxes. When we told him that we take our own pictures, he said that he would hire us to take pictures if we wanted to pursue photography professionally. Flattered by the offer, we decided to start our own business and Shoe Box Pictures was born.
